Police on Monday arrested a local leader of Jatiya Party (JaPa) from Hajiganj area under Fatullah police station of Narayanganj for allegedly torturing and physically assaulting a female school teacher of the area, reports UNB. Police arrested lawyer Abdul Majid Khandakar, member secretary of Narayanganj district unit of JaPa over torturing and physically assaulting Shahinur Parveen Shanu, a teacher of Pacific International School of the area, on Sunday night, said Kamal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model police station. Victim’s father Shaiful Islam filed a case with the police station on Monday noon accusing Abdul Majid Khandakar and his wife Rokeya Khandakar. Police later arrested Abdul Majid from his residence in the evening. The dawn-to-dusk hartal enforced by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rangamati district unit protesting attack on Supayan Chakma, general secretary of Sadar upazila unit of BCL, is underway on Tuesday, reports UNB. Due to the general strike, all business establishments remained shut down since morning while public transports, including water vessels, were not plying. A group of miscreants swooped on Supayan at Rajbari area of Sadar upazila and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured on Monday evening. Following the attack, the BCL and Juba League leaders and activists of the upazila blocked Rangamati-Chittagong road. At one stage, the clash ensued among police and BCL-Juba League men while the law enforcers tried to drive away them from the road, leaving 15 leaders and activists, including a local journalist, injured. They later announced the hartal in the district town for Tuesday protesting attack on the BCL leader.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists allegedly beat up a fourth year student of Shaheed Suhrawardy College in the city on Monday when he protested against extra money being collected for filling up forms of their honours examination. Bangladesh Chhatra League is the student wing of ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL). “They [BCL men] beat me up so badly that I cannot hear anything now. I went to a private hospital where the physicians told me I would need long-term treatment,” said the victim, Rahim Farayezi, 27. “I am not scared, by they beat me up badly. They also said they would hand me over to the police, saying that I was a member of Chhatra Shibir [student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami]. Then they released me and told me not to go back. "Investigators have several developments in this regard," the acting chairman told UNB adding that those responsible behind the leaks would be booked in a day or two. His words of assurance came when this year's ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams are embroiled in series of leaks with media reporting about leaked questions being made available through social media networks and messenger apps prior students appearing for every exam papers. But, the authorities have completely failed to prevent the leaks till date. Shahedul Kabir Chowdhury, however, reasoned that those leaks were not affecting the examinees that much as those were being made available only 15 to 20 minutes of the exam schedules. Bangladesh restricted Sri Lanka to 226 in the second innings on Day 3 of the 2nd Test  at at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur today. The hosts are chasing a 339-run target. Sri Lanka were 200/8 at stumps on Day 2, with Roshen Silva unbeaten on 58 and Suranga Lakmal 7 not out. British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on Saturday assured of continuing its support to Bangladesh on Rohingya issue saying the UK stands beside Bangladesh. He highly appreciated Bangladesh’s “incredible work” in making possible for Rohingyas to take shelter safely in Bangladesh. The British Foreign Secretary reiterated its stance on “safe and dignified” return of Rohingyas to their homeland from Bangladesh and laid emphasis on creating conditions in Rakhine State, reports UNB. Moudud Ahmed on Saturday alleged their party chief Khaleda Zia has not yet been given division in jail though she was a former prime minister. “It’s a matter of regret that our leader (Khaleda) has not yet been given division though she is a three-time Prime Minister,” he said.  Moudud, also a counsel for Khaleda, brought the allegation while talking to reporters at the gate of old central jail at Nazimuddin Road in the capital before meeting Khaleda,reports UNB. আমি রাজিন আমার বয়স ২২। আমার জীবনের একটি মজার ঘটনা আমি আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করতে চাই। আমাদের পরিবারের সদস্য সংখ্যা কাজের মেয়ে সহ চারজন্। আমি মা, আর আমার দুই বছরের বড় বড়বোন, আর বাবা দেশের বাইরে থাকে। আপা সবে মাত্র কলেজে পা রেখেছে। আমার আপার নাম রোজি। আম্মা প্লান করলো ১সপ্তাহের  জন্য মামার বাসায় বেড়াতে যাবে। আমি একা থাকবো সে কথা চিন্তা করে, আপাকে হোষ্টেল থেকে নিয়ে এল। আম্মা তারপরের দিন রাতের বাসে রওনা দিল। রাতে আপা আর আমি একসাথে খাওয়া শেষে করলাম, আপা ওষুধ খেল। আমি জিজ্ঞেস করলাম কিসের ওষুদ বলল-ঘুমের ঔষধ। ইদানিং নাকি ওর মোটেই ঘুষ আসেনা। কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই আপা  ঘুমিয়ে পড়ল। আমি ডেকে টেষ্ট করলাম ঘুমিয়ে গেছে না জেগে আছে। দেখলাম ঘুমিয়ে গেছে। তারপর আসাতে করে উঠে টিভি চালু করলাম। এক্স এক্স চ্যানের চালু করতেই দেখলাম দারুণ মভি চলছে। রাত ২টা পর্যন্ত মভি দেখলাম। মভি দেখতে দেখতে আমার অবস্থা একেবারে খারাপ। আমার লাওরা বাবা জি তো ঘুমাতেই চাই না। আপার দিকে তাকাতেই  আমার আমার শরীরের মধ্যে উত্তেজনা আরোও বারলো। মনে মনে চিন্তা আসছিল যদি রোজির কমলা দুইটা একবার ধরতে পারতাম। অথচ কোন সময় আমি তাক...

Bangla choti golpo রবির বয়স তখন ১৫ যখন সে কমলা আর ওর স্বামীর সাথে ওদের গ্রামের বাড়িতে থাকতে আসে।রবির বাবা-মা দুজনেই একটা দুর্ঘটনাতে মারা যান।ওদের বাড়িতে আগুন লাগে ,guda agun সেই আগুনে ওদের গোটা বাড়ি আর ওনারা জ্বলে ছাই হয়ে যান।কমলার বোন ছিল রবির মা।একমাত্র পরিবার বলতে কমলা choti মাসিই,তাই সে ওদের কাছে চলে আসে।jotil bangla choti শুরুর দিকে রবি একদম চুপচাপ থাকত,নিজের মনেই খেলা করত, কারো সাথে সেমন কথা বলতো না।পরিবারের শোকে তো এরকমই হওয়ার কথা,নিজের বাড়ির কথা হয়তো ওর খুব মনে পড়তো। রবির ১৭ বছর এর জন্মদিনের এক সপ্তাহের মাথায় কমলার স্বামী রাকেশ মারা যায়।মাঠে লাঙ্গল চালাতে গিয়ে একটা আঘাতে ওনার মৃত্যু হয়।হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়ার আগেই সে প্রাণ হারায়।কমলা তখন ৩২ বছরের যুবতি বিধবা, এমনকি রবির মন থেকেও আগের শোকটা মুছে যায়নি। কমলার ভাগ্য ভালো যে রবি তখন তার কাছে ছিলো তাই তাকে তার জমি জায়গা হারাতে হয়নি।তার গড়ন ভালো ছিলো,চাষেবাসে মনও তার ছিলো,সারা বছরের ফসলে তাদের গুজরান হয়ে যেত।বাড়ন্ত বয়েসে খাটাখাটুনির জন্য আরো পেটানো হয়ে যায় রবির শরীর,পেশিতে দৃঢ় তার বাহু।আঠারো বছর পেরিয়ে তাগড...
