Bangladesh all-rounder Mehedy Hasan Miraz is finally getting the piece of land he was promised after the Tigers' historic Test win over England last year.
As the media reported that the youngster, who claimed 19 wickets in his debut series, had been residing in a rented house, prime minister Sheikh Hasina asked the authorities concerned to build a home for the player.
“I was told prior to the last BPL that a piece of land would be given. I am glad they (Khulna Development Authorities) have kept their promise. The process of handing over the land will be concluded by the second week of the next month,” Miraz told this correspondent.
The land, measuring 4.95 decimal, is in Khalishpur area of the city.
Miraz is now playing for Rajshahi Kings in the BPL 2017. His team were beaten by Mashfe Bin Mortaza’s Rangpur Riders in their first game.
“We have not done well in the first match. Our beginning in the previous BPL was not great as well, but we did reach the final,” said a hopeful Miraz.
